The Sun Confidant in Persona 5 Royal, represented by the passionate public speaker Toranosuke Yoshida, offers some of the most practical combat and financial perks in the game. Located in Shibuya’s Station Square on Sunday evenings, Yoshida teaches Joker the art of public speaking and negotiation. Navigating his storyline not only enhances your social stats but also completely transforms how you interact with Shadows in the Metaverse.
Unlocking Toranosuke Yoshida and Schedule Details
To initiate the Sun Confidant, players must first express interest in Yoshida's speeches in Shibuya starting in May. After taking a part-time job at the Ore no Beko Beef Bowl Shop and working two night shifts, Yoshida will notice your dedication and invite you to assist him. Once unlocked, he is available primarily on Sunday nights, provided it is not raining. Maintaining awareness of key dates is essential, as his storyline becomes unavailable after mid-November.
Negotiation Mastery and Financial Perks
Advancing through Yoshida's ranks unlocks abilities that dramatically streamline Shadow negotiations. At Rank 2, the Diplomacy perk allows you to request extra money or items during conversation. Upon reaching Rank 3, Fundraising enables Joker to demand substantial amounts of yen, making it easier to accumulate funds for velvet room fusions and equipment. At Rank 5, Manipulation boosts the likelihood of acquiring rare items directly from enemy Shadows.
Automating Persona Recruitment and Level Bypassing
Higher ranks of the Sun Arcana grant game-changing passive abilities during battle encounters. Reaching Rank 8 unlocks Mind Control, which occasionally allows Joker to recruit a Shadow instantly without initiating dialogue. The final reward at Rank 10 is Charismatic Speech, an ability that permits Joker to recruit Personas that are at a higher level than himself. Social Stat Enhancements and Automatic Rank Ups
One of the most appealing aspects of the Sun Confidant is its unique ranking structure. Unlike most other social links, Yoshida ranks up automatically during every interaction without requiring matching Personas or specific response scores. Additionally, spending time with Yoshida awards a generous boost to Joker's Charm stat after every session. Maxing out this link also grants access to fusing Asura, the ultimate Persona of the Sun Arcana.
